$3,000 Copper Wire Theft at PPL Substation in Lower Milford

Lower Milford substation damage estimated at $12,000

 

Police are searching for anyone who has information about a copper wire theft at the PPL substation in Lower Milford.

The theft was discovered Jan. 4 when PPL employees came to check on the station, at the 5200 block of Palm Road. PPL last checked the station Dec. 23.

Approximately $3,000 of copper wire was stolen, with damages to the station totaling more than $12,000. Lower Milford police will be working with PPL corporate security on the case.

"Whoever did this put themselves in a great deal of danger," said PPL spokesperson Kathy Fraser. "Not to mention they risked electrical service for thousands of residents."
